Overview

Open Agents, Websites, open a website, then select Page SEO. The former /platform/inbound/seo link opens Page SEO on the client's original website. Page SEO manages titles, meta descriptions and social share images for the website you opened: site defaults, pages, index pages, blog posts, glossary terms, and the entries and categories of custom content types. Default, page, blog and glossary edits save to the website. Content entry and category edits save as drafts that you review and publish in Content.

How to use this page

  1. Open the right website

Choose the client in the client switcher at the top of the sidebar. Client users with one company see it automatically; with more than one, the page follows the company selected there. Open Agents, Websites, select the website by name or Open, then select Page SEO under Content in the sidebar. The SEO rows and live links belong only to that website. Websites at the top of the sidebar returns to the list of websites.

  2. Filter the SEO rows

Use Filter pages to search by the row label or URL path. Results are grouped as Defaults, Pages, Index pages, Blog and Glossary, followed by one group for each custom content type and a Categories group for its categories.

  3. Review the status

Each row shows its path and whether it uses DEFAULT, CUSTOM or READ-ONLY metadata. Unpublished rows also show a DRAFT badge. Read-only rows cannot be expanded.

  4. Edit page metadata

Expand an editable row to enter a Title tag and Meta description. Site defaults, pages, blog posts, glossary terms and content entries also have a Social share image URL; categories do not. A short note under the row explains its fallback. The panel includes character guidance and a search preview.

  5. Save and publish

Select Save after changing a row. Content entry and category rows show Save draft instead: the change goes to the draft, so select Review in Content and publish it there. Blank title or description values return to the default (for an entry, its content type's SEO template). View page opens the live URL in a new tab for published rows when the site is live.

Common questions

You need Inbound access for the selected client. Page SEO shows only the rows for the website you opened.
DEFAULT uses the site's generated fallback metadata. CUSTOM means a value has been saved for that row.
The generated Blog and Glossary index pages are read-only. To customize one, create a page at that URL in the website editor; it then appears as an editable row instead.
The page marks 60 characters as the ideal title maximum and 140 to 160 characters as the ideal meta-description range.
No. Default, page, blog and glossary edits are saved to the hosted site. Content entry and category edits save to the draft and go live when you publish them in Content.
That content entry's draft is missing required fields, so its inherited SEO cannot be previewed. You can still save SEO to the draft; finish the entry in Content to see the preview.
Page SEO locks editing and shows Reload saved SEO. This also happens when the content changed elsewhere since you opened it. Select Reload saved SEO to load the current values, then make your change again; unsaved edits are discarded.
